Mara’s new collection REAP a flora long-listed for Welsh International Poetry Book Prize
The Welsh International Poetry Book Prize honors poetry books collections published across the globe. Employing the flora as structural conceit, REAP explores changing seasons, weather, natural histories of plants and animals, and trajectories of growth and decay from ethnologic perspectives. Human birth, maturation, sex, procreation, aging and death contextualize poetic ruminations on the future health and viability of the earth and its resources in poems that subtly and powerfully acknowledge perils of the Anthropocene.
