The short list comprises five poems, three place getters and two runners up. The short list was announced on the Five Islands Press website on Tuesday 31 January 2017. The winning, second and third placed poems will be announced at the prize ceremony at Collected Works Bookshop in Melbourne, Australia, on Friday, 3 March 2017.Mara has been awarded the BigCi 2017 Environmental Prize: this coming summer she’ll spend four weeks in Australia at the Wollemi National Park – an UNESCO World Heritage Site – researching, writing poems, & working on new artist books.
